Matthew O’Neill
Weaving field recordings, instruments and ceremonial intent into immersive experiences that transcend genre
Matthew O’Neill is a ritual-centered artist, songwriter, and label curator whose work invites ancestral reconnection, ecological kinship, and cultural restoration through sound. Rooted in Indigenous ways of listening and land-based practice, his compositions weave field recordings, instruments and ceremonial intent into immersive experiences that transcend genre.
A lifelong songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, O’Neill’s music channels personal and collective storylines into offerings of healing and remembrance. As the founder of Panther Mountain, an Indigenous-centered music label and cultural restoration project, he curates sound journeys, community-based collaborations, and listening pathways.
