Enjoy an evening of bidding on art, art objects & vintage art donated by collectors and the artists themselves (including O+ Festival alumni). This second annual O+ Festival art auctiontakes place Friday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at outdated: an antique café in Kingston, N.Y.
The auction is an excellent opportunity for new collectors to begin acquiring works as there are no minimum bid requirements. Long-time collectors can feel good knowing all auction proceeds benefit the nonprofit O+ Festival. It’s art for art’s sake and the Tides Foundationmatching grant applies.
Last year’s auction (which raised nearly $10K) was supported by generous donations of work from O+ alumni, including Scott Michael Ackerman, Chris Gonyea, Kimberly Kae, Polly M. Law, Norm Magnusson, Matthew Pleva andGiselle Potter, as well as friends of the festival Jane Bloodgood-Abrams, Theresa Drapkin, Kara Eletto, and Kieran Kinsella, among many others.
This year’s offerings include a limited edition 22” x 28” silkscreen by street artist and mural artist Gaia, an “Art/Life” handbag by contemporary feminist performance artist Linda Mary Montano, a 15″ x 15″ encaustic ink on graphite paper by multimedia artist Denise Orzo — all three artists are O+ alumni — and a 74” x 82” oil on canvas by painter and O+ executive director Joe Concra.
