Bird Week is a fuzzy, folk-ish indie rock band based out of Harrison, New York. The band is primarily driven by the songwriting of lead singer Justin Hatch. The band originally began as a solo project in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, but developed into a full band upon the Fall 2021 reopening of campus life at Purchase College (known for it’s diverse music scene). The band’s self-titled debut album was released on May 27th 2022, featuring newly recorded versions of songs previously recorded solely by Hatch. The current lineup of the band features Justin Hatch on electric banjo and vocals, Matthew Vander Putten on electric guitar, Zachary Vogel on bass, and John Porcelli on drums.
