Tides Foundation Awards $245K Matching Grant

The San Francisco-based Tides Foundation, on the recommendation of a donor-advised fund, has awarded O+ Festival a $245,000 matching grant for general support over three years. This means every dollar you donate to the Kingston, N.Y.-based nonprofit between today and March 2019 is worth double! The Tides Foundation “accelerates the pace of social change, working with innovative partners to solve society’s toughest problems.” The O+ Festival national team is honored that its efforts to build long-term relationships between creatives and caregivers to strengthen local communities have been recognized by such an esteemed grantor.

Through the assistance of the 3-year Tides matching grant, O+ will be able to support part-time and full-time work for year-round staff, who have donated countless hours to the nonprofit. The board of directors and national team have made an important decision to compensate all — from Executive Director to Volunteer Coordinator — on an equal level, which will allow O+ to fuel the local economy in a valuable and uniquely progressive way. This grant enables O+ to build a strong foundation and become a fully sustainable organization that is capable of forging long-term connections with neighbors, local businesses and government to co-create a healthy and vibrant community.
