The Warp/The Weft

The Warp/The Weft, active since 2012 in and beyond New York’s Hudson River Valley, has earned praise for its uniqueness and song-crafting from casual and devoted listeners alike. Blending traditional and avant-garde styles, the warmth of a good wool sweater and the sometimes-bleak cold of an upstate winter, the progressive folk and psychedelia that the band brings to bear (compared to Fairport Convention and Jethro Tull) is propelled by poetic lyrics and a “spirit-conjuring,” lilting tenor that “puts Murphy alongside Shearwater’s Jonathan Meiburg as one of the most captivating high-register voices in rock today” (Ron Hart, Chronogram). 2017’s Mapping an Absence (July 29, 2017, Admirable Traits Records) introduces bassist Trevor Larcheveque, whose vocal harmonies help to anchor the band firmly in the chamber category.

Dirt Bikes

New York City stalwarts Dirt Bikes draw listeners in with compact songs that blend garage energy, college rock jangle, and a bit of pop shimmer. Running the gamut from frank intimacy to furious energy, they take us from back porch reminiscences to the front lines of protests, visiting ghosts of the past and tackling the anxieties of our shared present. As this lean, focused quartet navigates from pastoral guitar licks to four-on-the-floor stomp to roiling crescendos, fans will recognize hints of influences including Modest Mouse, Screaming Females, Pixies, and the Black Keys, among many others.

Since forming in Brooklyn in 2010, Dirt Bikes have beaten the path of venerable New York venues past and present, including Southpaw, The Cake Shop, Trash Bar, The Delancey, Rock Shop, Union Pool and Silent Barn, in addition to playing The Figment Festival on Governor’s Island. They’ve toured the continental U.S. from Philly to Austin, and embarked on three European tours, including their most recent visit to Germany in the Summer of 2017.

Dirt Bikes have released four records, beginning with The Ear EP (2010), This Shit’s For Sale (2011), Coasts (2014), and their most recent effort, Mistakes Make Pretty Patterns. Their music has been featured in the German filmmaker and photographer Peter Sempel’s films “Animals of Art” (2010), “Jonas in the Jungle” (2013) and Bazon: Serious Jokes (2016) as well as the off-Broadway plays “The Resurrection of George” (2012) and “Bitch Twitch: The Taking of Vicki Presh” (2014) by actor/playwright Harold Lehmann.

Drs. Jeffrey & Maureen Viglielmo

Hello, Drs. Jeff and Maureen Viglielmo here… we are long time residents of Ulster County and just love it. We met while at Georgetown University Dental School in Washington, DC, which provided us with our D.D.S degrees. We’ve shared many of the same passions through the years, including skiing and a love of the outdoors. We were married in 1986 and have lived in Woodstock while raising our 2 children, Kealey (age 22) and Kaitlana (age 20).

Professionally, we are the Hudson Valley’s mercury experts, practicing safe mercury removal and hygiene. Our vision for our health care practice is to provide the highest level of care for our patients by keeping current with advances in procedures, materials and technology. We practice with a conservative, biologic approach to achieve dental and whole-body wellness.
