Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf, is a new band on the American Indie Rock/funk scene. Their ‘in your face, badass’ sound has been described as ‘if the 70’s band Chicago and Led Zeppelin had a baby with Janis Joplin, you would get Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf.’ Wowing audiences in NYC and Austin TX at the 2016 SXSW Festival, this 8 piece powerhouse of a band chose Detroit Michigan’s iconic United Sound Studio, home to Earth, Wind and Fire, George Clinton and Parliament Funkhadelic to record their debut album, BAD GET SOME.
Miss Velvet may be tall, thin and blond, but her epic voice thrills with the unlikely sound of James Brown, Steven Tyler, and Joe Cocker w the soulfulness of Janice and Etta James, taking the listener on a journey back to the days of psychedelic rock and funk.
Their 3 track preview EP, DARE was released Mar. 22nd on Isotopia Records, for their European debut at the Tallinn Music Week in Estonia. They return to NYC’s Rockwood Music Hall for a bi-monthly summer residency and the release of their full length 10 track album available on vinyl and digital Summer 2017.

ROEBUCK

After years of honing his abilities busking in NYC and on the road, Phillip Roebuck (who was known for his incredible one man band setup and lightning fast playing) has recently found incredible musical success by teaming up with his wife Phoenix on upright bass. Known for his ability to create a very full sound with limited limbs, Phillip has sought a more stripped down sound in ROEBUCK and the results are phenomenal! Wielding a resonator guitar and a two piece stomp board with Phoenix adding backing vocals and low end, Roebucks songwriting truly shines! ROEBUCK’s music is full of swamp blues, jump blues, hollers & stomps, shanties, ballads & breakdowns, and of course tearjerkers”

Buffalo Sex Change

Buffalo Sex Change are a two piece Rock N Roll band out of Rochester, NY with dynamic live performances that focus on the visceral.

or

Buffalo Sex Change sound like Buddy Holly’s Beechcraft Bonanza crashing into a snowy corn field, Little Richards heel banging piano keys, and the glass scratching against Iggy Pops chest. We’re David Johansen’s red lipstick and high heels. We’re David Bowie’s milk, red peppers, and cocaine. We’re black leather rock n roll babies. We’re your 21st century rock n roll band. It’s the big boppers last call coming through your phone. Helloooo baby. We’re here. Revving the motorcycle outside your window. It’s gonna shoot straight through your heart. Drag race between your ears. You can click the heels on your blue suede shoes and dream baby dream about going home, but it won’t do you any good…. We have decided to move in.

Cross Culture

Cross Culture is a musical experience you have yet to experience. Literally. When people think of a band with two emcees, they rarely think of a married couple. Rarely do they see the rest of the members in the roles they serve in the band. Formed by emcee, Saidu Ezike in October 2014; the goal of Cross Culture is to break barriers through the fusion of musical genres. In addition, the goal is for people to Break Barriers in their own lives as we believe the Cross Culture experience is greater than music. Though it may be difficult to see from the surface, members of the band have performed/collaborated with the likes of Run DMC, Beyonce, Black Sheep to name a few. Gearing up for the release of their debut album, Majesty in 2017, sky’s the limit for this motivated group of individuals.
