Jess Edelman LMT

Bio:

Jess Edelman LMT came to the Hudson valley in 2000 to pursue her bachelors degree at SUNY New Paltz. After graduating in 2004 she realized she wanted a career that was more personal and would have the possibility to help and change peoples lives, she then enrolled in the Hudson Valley School of Massage Therapy and became licensed in 2006. After working for other people for 15 years she decided that she wanted to open her own private practice devoted to the LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized communities. This dream came to fruition in April of 2021 when she opened The Repair Shop in uptown Kingston.

Jess’s practice is an intuitive one which is focused on Swedish and Deep Tissue massage.

She is super excited to be able to volunteer with O+ this year.

Rachel Low, ND

Bio:

I believe true wellness comes from living in intention with ourselves, our bodies and our health; in connection with our community, our ancestors, peers, neighbors and friends; communing with and honoring the land which bears our food and our medicine, the water and air within us and around us. Naturopathic medicine is more than just a way to treat disease, but a philosophy that permeates all aspects of life.

I graduated with a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. Upon completing my medical education, I spent one year practicing in a primary care setting in the Pacific Northwest before relocating to the Hudson Valley of New York to start a practice of my own, focused on providing powerful, individualized, inclusive and trauma-informed adjunctive care to folks in and around the Hudson Valley, with virtual offerings worldwide.

My practice is grounded firmly in the naturopathic principles of addressing the root cause of disease and working to support the natural healing process. I strongly emphasize establishing good foundational health with diet and lifestyle, while using plant and energy medicines to stimulate the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems and gently direct the body towards homeostasis. Modalities that I frequently use include herbal medicine, homeopathy, biotherapeutic drainage, clinical nutrition, flower essences, and hydrotherapy.

Nicole Murray-Lewis

Bio:

Hi I’m Nicole! I have been learning the art of aromatherapy and just started up my practice. I believe in holistic medicine, mind, body and soul. Using natural plant oils, essential oils, I help my patients navigate natural remedies for their ailments. Bringing together traditional medicine and alternative medicine we can find balance. I started using aromatherapy on myself when I had terrible anxiety and found traditional medicine alone was not getting me any better. Using essential oils I feel more at peace. I now wish to share this with others.

Isa Coffey, RN, Director WiseBodies

Isa Coffey (she/her) spent the last four decades doing these good things: being an out lesbian; helping women have safe abortions; teaching teens, kids, and adults sexual health and wellbeing; founding and running a cervical cap fitting site; leading classes in sexuality in public and private schools; gaining her RN; being a labor and delivery nurse and a homebirth doula; growing medicinal plants and making plant medicine; birthing and raising two sons; caring for honeybees; surviving brain injury.

Thirteen years ago she dreamed into and birthed WiseBodies, a school in which all humans can come together in safety and joy to recognize sexuality as a force for good, a way to connect fully within the natural world, and a magical pathway toward moving into wholeness.

Jess Strunk, 1000 hour Therapeutic Yoga, Meditation, and Breathwork practitioner

Bio:
Jess Strunk’s Yoga path began when she was 16 and living with chronic anxiety, depression and PTSD. Jess experienced peace and relief from her debilitating anxiety during her first class and was hooked from then on. After graduating from UT Knoxville in 2012 with degrees in anthropology and Spanish, she worked and travelled as a yacht stewardess. Yoga philosophy, mindful movement, breathwork and meditation remained key grounding forces for Jess in this hectic and unpredictable lifestyle, so she felt inspired to go deeper in her study and to share these practices with others.

Years later, she is now a 1000 hour Yoga teacher and a Kripalu Integrative Yoga Therapist in training. Jess’s practice is trauma informed and therapeutic for the mind, body and soul. She aims to honor Yoga’s Indian roots in her teaching and emphasizes everyone’s birthrights of self expression, sovereignty and their innate ability to self-heal.
