O+ in partnership with Samadhi will offer online training in how to administer Narcan, which temporarily reverses the effects of opioid medicines, on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. over the Zoom platform: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88067047672
During this short, yet in-depth training participants will learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of opioid overdose and how to administer Narcan (naloxone).
Those who complete the training will be mailed a Narcan nasal spray kit to always carry with them in case of an opioid overdose.
Why should one attend a Narcan training? Opioid-related deaths in Ulster County increased 171% in 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. This is a public health crisis and we all should do what we can to help.
Thanks to Ulster Savings Bank for sponsoring Narcan trainings for the community.
